Collaboration with Jun!Yi Min
sisal twine, silk, cotton, onion dye, iron modifier, brass grommets, fired palm pressed clay
A collaborative sculpture that fixates on the precarious nature of nets; they become a fragile state of relocating while holding and protecting. Hom’s handwoven straps in twill patterns lift into the air, and the weight of Min’s clay pieces serve as anchors. Each shape comes from the memory of Min clasping and releasing the clay, leaving faint imprints from her palms. Both materials intertwine to cradle empty space.
