This performance at the Salton Sea is in response to current water politics. The skin is made out of latex casts from man holes and cracks on the ground in San Diego. The Colorado River no longer replenishes the Salton Sea, but is distributed to San Diego County and Coachella Valley. The result is lower water levels, and a rise of toxic dust in nearby communities.
