After my studies in Leeds, I was interested in using embroidery as a form of drawing to explore my identity as a Chinese-American. I found old photographs of relatives I never met in family albums, and began stitching across their faces to create patterns for this textile. This practice was a way for me to not only retrace my roots, but also feel connected to my family.
